Here at St James Medical Practice we endeavour to serve our local community in providing the best quality medical care.

We offer a friendly, welcoming environment in which we hope patients feel comfortable and confident enough to confide in us.  



Please Note:

On the 8th of June 2017 a new telephone system will be installed here at The St James Practice which may cause delays in getting through.

From the 12th of June ALL same day urgent appointments on a Monday & Tuesday will be put on a telephone triage with a GP who will then decide if you need to come in or if they can help within the telephone call.

PPG Awareness 2017 

The PPG

We are having a PPG awareness week from June 19-24 2017. PPG Awareness Week Poster

The Patient Participation Group are a group of volunteers who are registered at this practice that assist the Practice in improving services to patients by working with the practice managers.

WALTHAM FOREST GP NETWORK

This service is provided on behalf of all Waltham Forest surgeries. It is available to ALL patients registered with a GP in the Borough of Waltham Forest.

If you would like to see a GP or Nurse:

Over the weekend: phone lines are open from 08:00 - 18:00. To book an appointment on Saturday & Sunday please phone 020 8519 3999.

In the week: phone lines are open from 12:00 - 20:00 to book appointments for the same day with appointment times between 18:00 - 22:00, please phone 0208 519 3999.


Serving You

We are a committed and well established family GP Practice based in Walthamstow.

We pride ourselves in providing our patients with high standards of care in a friendly environment. We try to achieve this by working with and for our patients and the community and we are proud to be part of the Patient Participation Group (PPG).

 

Appointments

Consultations are by appointments and can be booked in person or over the telephone. Pre-bookable are available up to 4 weeks in advance and a number of appointments are available for same day appointment requests.

Patients have the right to see the GP of their choice but this may cause a delay in being seen.

 

Consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person at the surgery or by telephone during the office hours or alternatively on-line.


We aim to see patients within 20 minutes upon arrival of their appointment and if this is not the case then an explanation will be provided. We hope you will all bear with us, as some patient’s appointments can take longer than their scheduled appointment time.

 

All new patients are offered an appointment for a New Patient Health Check (NPHC) at the point of registration.


Telephone

Our telephone lines are usually very busy, therefore we would like to kindly suggest that you only telephone between 08:00 and 10:00 if you need:

  • to make either an appointment for that day
  • urgent need of medical attention
  • to cancel an existing appointment.

For all routine enquiries, results, administration enquiries please call after 11:00.

 

When booking an appointment you may be asked the nature of the call, this is purely to ensure that we direct your requirement to the appropriate person.

 


Access

Access to the health centre and its consulting rooms are accessible for disabled visitors.

Register for Patient Access

By doing this you can log on wherever you are with the free ‘patient access’ service to:

  • book appointments
  • view your medical records
  • request repeat prescriptions

Please visit the surgery and ask to register online so that we can give you your unique log in details.
